Sniti Mishra — Classical Vocalist | Performer | Cultural Ambassador
Classically trained Sniti Mishra burst on the national music scene through Zee SaReGaMaPa Singing Superstar 2010 and performed wide variety of songs – from Classical, Sufi, Ghazal, old classics and film/ Non film songs. Rising through the ranks on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Sniti won millions of hearts and was honored with the title of “Most Remarkable Voice of the Series” in the Grand Finale. Music legend and Oscar-winner A.R. Rahman, after listening to Sniti live, remarked:
“This melodious voice is different; I haven’t heard a voice and style as original as Sniti’s in a very long time.”

In the bouquet of admiration she received, countless fans from India and abroad, along with renowned composers and directors, added fragrance to her unique musical journey. Television commentators and guests compared the quality of her voice to that of Janis Joplin and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

As a trained Hindustani classical vocalist, Sniti Mishra has collaborated with eminent artists including the Indo-Swedish fusion jazz band Mynta, legendary percussionist Sivamani, and Grammy-nominated jazz maestro Louis Banks. Her versatility has taken her to prestigious stages across India and around the world, where she has performed both classical and fusion concerts, earning acclaim for her distinctive voice and cross-genre artistry

Her accolades include the ‘Baji Rout Samman’ (2016) from Utkala Cultural Association, IIT Bombay. She was invited to judge the Chicago Indian Icon in the USA in 2013 and was appointed as a Goodwill Ambassador for the global charity Combat Blindness International. Sniti has also lent her voice to the Tamil film Maaveeran Kittu under the music direction of D. Imman.

As an exponent of Hindustani classical and semi-classical music, Sniti Mishra has been invited to perform at some of India’s most prestigious music festivals and cultural platforms, including:

She is also known for her celebrated renditions of Marathi Classical and Kashmiri Folk songs, including her acclaimed track “Harmukh Bartal”, featured in the popular web series The Family Man.

Early Life:

Sniti Mishra was born in Balangir, a district in western Odisha, into an Odia Brahmin family. She is the younger of two siblings.

From an early age, Sniti displayed a deep inclination towards music. She received formal training in Hindustani Classical music under the guidance of Guru Shri Raghunath Sahoo, a distinguished disciple of Dr. Damodar Hota of the Gwalior Gharana. She went on to earn her Visharad (Bachelor’s in Music) specializing in Hindustani Khayal.

A firm believer in the harmony of education and art, Sniti also pursued her academic interests, earning a Master’s degree in Business Administration (Finance and Control) from Odisha graduating in 2012.
